Artist Ada has been illustrating for 10 years now, and she says she absolutely loves it ! She is skilled in story boarding, sketching, animation, and creating illustrations for different things like books, magazines, and ads. At present, she works as a Senior Illustrator at Brazilero Animation Studio, where she is always pushing herself creatively. She specializes in designing characters, adding personality and charm to each one. Whether she is using Adobe or Procreate, Ada can easily bring her ideas to life with vibrant illustrations for animations or personal projects.
Beyond art, she loves sharing her expertise through teaching. “You’ll find me leading workshops or dishing out tips on my blog, where I also offer custom Procreate brushes. What’s your artistic background?
I attended art school for five years, but I can’t say I had any major achievements there; I just went because I loved to draw. Later, I studied graphic design at university, but I was ahead of the classes and spent every night drawing on my own and posting my work online. I have extensive experience and practice.
What’s integral to the work of an artist?
An essential part of an illustrator’s work is the drive to develop independently and keep the inner fire alive. Creative people often find life challenging, so we need to be strong and deeply in love with what we do.
What role does the artist have in society?
An artist connects society to the beauty around us. I believe artists shape the visual perception in society; we create beauty because we understand how to.
What art do you most identify with?
I am made for illustration – it suits me best, and I find it the most interesting.
What themes do you pursue?
I can’t say I pursue specific themes in illustration because I am a commercial illustrator. However, I prefer themes like nature, ecology, animals, and beautiful people.
What’s your favourite art work?
I love the paintings and sculptures of Joan Miró – his works inspire me a lot.
Describe a real-life situation that inspired you?
I am very inspired by people who support me on social media – those who follow me and leave comments. My students’ words of thanks also inspire me greatly.
What jobs have you done other than being an artist?
I have always been involved in drawing or related activities. For example, I did henna designs on hands, painted pictures, and even taught children to draw.
Why art?
Because I can’t imagine my life without it. It makes me happy, and when I draw, I express my feelings.
What is an artistic outlook on life?
An artistic outlook is when you see beauty in everything and turn the ugly into something beautiful because you can’t live any other way.
What memorable responses have you had to your work?
Every word of thanks from clients makes me as happy as the first time – any positive feedback makes me feel like I am doing the right thing and moving in the right direction.
What food, drink, song inspires you?
I can’t say any specific food or drink inspires me, but the song “Fire” by Kasabian always puts me in the mood to draw.
Is the artistic life lonely? What do you do to counteract it?
Yes, I believe the life of artists can be lonely because we often struggle with our feelings and don’t find support around us. To counteract this, you need to value those who support you and, most importantly, support yourself. You must be your toughest critic and your biggest fan.
What do you dislike about the art world?
I don’t like that there are many bad courses where illustrators deceive their colleagues, claiming they can achieve huge earnings in just a month. It’s not fair; illustration, like any art, is hard work.

I don’t like that I work a lot and find it hard to stop and not take on extra work, but it’s my choice and responsibility.
What do you like about your work?
I love everything about my work. I enjoy challenging tasks, working with clients, drawing, and seeing my work as a result of my efforts – it’s simply great.
Should art be funded?
Yes, art should definitely be funded. It’s important for illustrators to know their worth and get fair pay for their work and knowledge.
What role does arts funding have?
Funding for the arts creates more great illustrators, breaking the stereotype that artists must always be starving. It’s a serious profession, just as important as any other.
What is your dream project?
I dream of creating a book for my own child during my pregnancy. It seems sweet and impressive to illustrate a story about my feelings and experiences that I can later share with my child.

I don’t want to be compared to anyone else; I believe we are all unique, and we need to recognize our differences.

I love Cala d’Or beach in Mallorca – it’s the perfect place for me.
What’s the best piece of advice you’ve been given?
The best advice came from my dad: to become the happiest person and live my best life – not to spare money on experiences and to enjoy every moment of my life.
Professionally, what’s your goal?
I dream of building a career in illustration and becoming a top professional.
future plans?
Right now, I plan to develop my YouTube channel, sell my brushes, and work on my projects. I have many plans for the future and might even create my own merchandise.
