From a new on-property winter wonderland complete with ice curling rink and a series of live music concerts by candlelight, to festive feasting, cocktail masterclasses and the best New Year’s Eve party in town, there’s a Christmas wish waiting to be granted for all this year at Hilton’s lakeside getaway.
The festive period is one of the most magical times of the year to experience Lake Como, as the region is aglow with beautiful lights and décor, bustling markets, special events and celebrations. At Hilton Lake Como, which enjoys one of the most privileged spots on the lake, a spoiling heated infinity pool and jacuzzi on the sixth floor is open year-round, offering guests unparalleled views across the lake as the atmospheric steam rises and Christmas lights twinkle all around them.

Winter Wonderland Ice Curling Rink
This festive season at Hilton Lake Como, guests will step into a true winter wonderland, with the outdoor area of the Taffeta lounge transformed into a magical winter garden complete with an ice curling rink.
Turkish Moka
Guests can try their hand (and feet) at the quirky Olympic sport of curling on the new ice curling rink in the garden area, just off the Taffeta lounge. The rink, created from environmentally friendly artificial ice, is not only open to hotel guests but locals too, across the entire winter season. Once off the ‘ice’, guests can warm up with a glass of vin brulè, wickedly good hot chocolate, tea, cakes and small bites, all served from an adorable, festive wooden hut.
Candlelight Concerts
December will see a trio of enchanting Candlelight Concerts take place at Hilton Lake Como, where music afficionados can soak up the sounds of some of the world’s most iconic artists, performed live on classical instruments by candlelight.
On 8th December, traditionalists can choose from a tribute to Ennio Morricone at 5.30 pm or 7 pm, while rock lovers will delight in the Coldplay vs. Imagine Dragons tribute performance at 9.30 pm – which returns on 15th December at 5.30 and 7 pm.
20th December will see concert-goers get into the festive spirit with magical performances of the Christmas Classics at 5.30pm and 7pm.
Spritz Masterclasses
It wouldn’t be Christmas in Como without a spritz – or two – and this season guests can try their hand at whisking up their very own. During an indulgent Spritz Masterclass hosted by Taffeta Bar’s expert mixologists, participants will be guided through the spritz crafting process, discovering vibrant variations and learning intriguing insights about the most iconic of Italian cocktails.
Festive Feasting
On the rooftop at Terrazza 241, guests can indulge in a festive aperitivo while watching the steam rise from the heated infinity pool. Against an enchanting backdrop of rolling mountains and the iconic lake, the talented bar team will be serving up a variety of limited-edition cocktails in collaboration with Acqua del Lario, a local brand that beautifully merges the art of perfumery with the celebration of the local area.
No one does festive feasting quite like the Italians and the seasonal offering at Hilton Lake Como is no exception. Larger groups of families, friends or corporates can celebrate together in style with a curated selection of bespoke dining by Executive Chef Stefano Ghielmetti. From a four-course dinner showcasing the finest regional dishes and produce to a standing buffet with all the trimmings, stand out dishes include veal cheek braised in Barolo wine sauce with celeriac cream and chanterelles and fresh pasta agnolotti stuffed with pumpkin in a truffle and butter sauce.
NYE with a View
There’s no better spot in town to watch the New Year’s fireworks than Terrazza 241, Hilton Lake Como’s rooftop bar and restaurant, which offers unrivaled views of the show and the colours reflecting on the lake below. This year, the venue – a favourite of locals and guests alike – will host a very special New Year’s celebration with live music and a gourmet menu setting the stage for an unforgettable evening.
A choice of fish, meat or vegan five-course menu will tantalise the tastebuds, with sumptuous dishes ranging from an inventive take on a three-bird roast complete with confit duck lollipop, Bresse chicken breast and slow-cooked pigeon royal, to a creamy wild lobster risotto with crustacean bisque and Stracciatella. Little ones will be expertly catered to with a spoiling five-course bimbi menu, and at midnight – as per Italian tradition – all guests will be served a panettone toast with mascarpone cream, ensuring they have the sweetest of starts to 2025!
Christmas Gifting by Hilton Lake Como
New for 2024, guests of Hilton Lake Como will have the unique opportunity to bring the magic of the lake home with them, with a selection of products offering the most authentic of Christmas gifts. Guests can choose from the hotel’s bespoke new signature olive oil – an indulgent essential for elevating any dish – or its homemade artisanal gin. Inspired by Lake Como, the gin features predominant notes of lavender, mulberry, green tea, ginger and pink grapefruit, capturing the essence of the land and combining it with the distinctive features of Terrazza 241.
Nearby Natale Celebrations and Excursions
Guests at Hilton Lake Como are spoilt for choice when it comes to enjoying a true Italian-style Christmas, thanks to the wonderful seasonal celebrations nearby.
A short walk away, in nearby Cernobbio, guests can wander through the stunning Città dei Balocchi from 7th December 2024 – 7th January 2025.
