Fairfield by Marriott Goa, Benaulim

 In the first week of October, I was invited to the newly opened Fairfield by Marriott Goa Benaulim, by General Manager Randal Whelpdale. Located within walking distance from the immaculate sands of Benaulim Beach, the 144-room new hotel offers guests the brand’s signature warm service, friendly hospitality and effortless experiences.

On arrival I was welcomed by the General Manager and Sumit Gunturkar, Operations Manager. The hotel has a gorgeous lobby resembling a chapel and I could not stop admiring the beautiful interiors! The balcony attached with my room afforded a spectacular view of the expansive swimming pool which is one of the highlights of this beautiful hotel. It was a delight to notice that the food and beverage team had placed a delectable chocolate based dessert in my room to welcome me.

Fairfield by Marriott Goa Benaulim features two signature restaurants and a pool bar. Kava, the all-day dining restaurant, serves authentic Indian and Western cuisine from the restaurant’s à-la-carte menu as well as a wide range of selections made available at the daily buffet. During my stay I enjoyed a delicious Goan thaali at Kava dished up by Chef Seema Silva and consisted of a range of delicacies with visual appeal ! I have a preference for seafood and I enjoyed several Goan seafood specialties during my stay. Executive Chef Frances Vaz created several memorable dining experiences for me during most meal times. I sipped on delicious feni based cocktails created by expert bartenders at Kava Lounge, where guests can enjoy light bites, coffee and cocktails. It was a pleasure to spend time at Azul, the poolside bar especially in the evenings.

I was fortunate to spend time at the beautiful Benaulim beach which is just 5 minutes away from the hotel and enjoy a fantastic picnic set up by the hotel there.

I spent a lot of time in the gorgeous lobby admiring the architecture and vast open spaces around the lobby. The hotel is built in the style of an expansive resort which is a refreshing change when you compare it with other Fairfields in India. One of the highlights of the lobby is the Market from where I picked up a lot of goodies such as chocolates, bebinca, nuts, etc.
