Kwerk announces the opening of its new location: Messine

Paris – Kwerk, a leading name in exceptional workspaces, unveils its newest gem at 16 Avenue de Messine.

This project, led by Albert Angel, co-founder and architect-designer, reinterprets a historic 1875 building, seamlessly blending its elegant heritage with a bold contemporary vision. Inspired by artist Do Ho Suh, Albert Angel explores an architectural approach that plays with perception.

The lobby, the centrepiece of Messine, embodies this vision. Its grand dome, woven
like a spider’s web, appears to float in space. Crafted over 7,000 hours by French artisans, it captures and reflects light, creating an ephemeral illusion.

Classic mouldings, reimagined with amplified and unexpected proportions, redefine traditional architectural codes. They extend throughout the spaces, offering a striking and innovative interpretation of historical details. This duality continues in the furniture, carefully selected or designed by Albert Angel.

In the lobby, custom-made armchairs combine ceramic and bouclé fabric, harmonising with the airy textures and soft light of the dome. Bistro chairs from Kartell’s collections, upholstered in fabrics by Emilio Pucci, further enrich this universe. Their vibrant, acid-toned seats create a dialogue with the reinterpreted classical architectural elements.

This pursuit of balance continues in the barista area, where an atmosphere inspired by old boys’ clubs sets the tone. Custom-designed Chesterfield sofas create a warm and inviting setting. Stained glass windows, handcrafted by L’Âme du Vitrail, narrate the story of Kwerk’s various locations through a delicate interplay of light and colour, extending this poetic narrative.

This contrast between monumentality and lightness flows throughout the building, where imposing columns and sculptural furniture blend seamlessly with ethereal elements. The green rooftops, offering a stunning view of the Eiffel Tower, extend this experience, providing a space for contemplation and escape.

Inside, parquet flooring and wall coverings by Maison Moooi add depth, drawing inspiration from the sleek lines of Art Deco. Messine goes beyond the definition of a functional building. It is an architectural installation where every detail—trompe-l’œil, reimagined proportions, and luminous textures—invites us to
rethink our experience of the spaces we inhabit.

The signature suites, ranging from 75 m² to an entire private floor, are designed to meet the highest professional standards. Each suite features a spacious reception lounge, expansive offices, and private meeting rooms. Perfect for law firms seeking confidentiality, the 4th-floor suite, nestled courtyard-side, stands out with its stunning vaulted ceilings and intimate atmosphere.

Executive offices, ranging from 9 m² to 20 m², are designed for individual use. Custom Ergonomic Furniture
The ergonomically designed furniture, created specifically for Kwerk Messine, includes height- adjustable sit-stand desks, developed in collaboration with Maison Roche Bobois. Additionally, anti-fatigue mats, knee-rest chairs, and oscillating stools combine comfort and efficiency. All office equipment has been carefully designed by Albert Angel Studio in partnership with Maud Chuffart, Head of Wellworking™, to ensure a real impact on posture and well-being.

These therapeutic furniture pieces promote movement and flexibility throughout the workday while supporting posture and reducing strain. Thanks to this tailored approach, members can adapt their work environment to their individual needs. Albert Angel and his studio also offer bespoke interior design services, allowing each workspace to be fully customised to the specific needs of its occupants.
